Heyo! TheShadowLord talking to you... Typing to you! I made this small survey for you guys because I wanted to mix it up! Hope you enjoy and please tell me if you do!
Hi, this is Ray here, and I'm talking about human over population. Without a doubt the biggest issue facing the environment is over population of humans. All other major environmental issues flow from the very fact that we are over populating the planet.
The worlds population has tripled in the last 60 years placing stress on every aspect of the environment. "More land is developed every day to accommodate the urban spread.
In 1950 the population stood at 2,555,982,611, compared to 2012 which it now stands at over 7,000,000,000", according to Top 10 Environmental Issues.. The world's population has increased by almost 3 times. That is INSANE!!!!!!!!!
Heyo! It's TheShadowLord! Today were talking about the Hawksbill turtle! The hawksbill turtle is critically endangered so we REALLY need to help. NOT make there life's miserable, like some people (the people who don't care about this beautiful animals life being lost). The hawksbill turtles help keep the health of the coral reefs at bay. GUESS WHAT THE THREATS ARE?!?! I mean other that humans of course. Well loss of nesting areas, feeding area loss, POLLUTION (Ray talked about it in one of her blog posts), but the worst thing is the illegal trading. Even though people are trying to make it so you can't illegally trade the hawksbills shells, SOME PEOPLE just don't listen. They use their shells for jewelry and products. I MEAN REALLY?!?! I would be good with a necklace that had fake snake jaws on it or a ring with an oddly shaped rock on it but NO OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO HAVE A TURTLE SHELL NECKLACE OR RING!!! I mean think of the animal that suffered so you could WEAR it. If your still proud of yourself after all of that then, *claps REALLY slowly* I bet your mom is so PROUD! THAT YOU ARE WEARING THE LEFTOVERS OF A DEAD ANIMAL! GREAT JOB BEING SO HORRIBLE!! YOUR DEFINITELY THE BEST AT BEING THE WORST!! OH WHAT WAS THAT?!? YOU WANT AN AWARD WELL HERE YOU GO! Ugh, you people are so mean to everything that's has a "lower intelligence" than you. That's all I have to say for now! Please help the hawksbill turtle if you ever get the chance!
Hi again, this is Fudgie. I will be talking about the giant panda. You've most likely heard of this adorable black-and-white bear; it's loved by many people all around the world (including me!). But sadly, pandas are facing a lot of problems.
Giant pandas have lived in bamboo forests for several million years. They used to roam in lowlands, but lately, humans (UGH) have been cutting down forests and farming. That basically forces the giant pandas to move to the mountains.
Why don't humans realize that what they're doing might be hurting animals and/or ruining their lives? Humans have much, much more than animals do. People should share and not be greedy for land. And besides, deforestation is terrible. Have you ever heard of people cutting down rain forests for the logs? This is just as bad.
Because of us, pandas are listed as endangered. Because of man's greed, there are only about 1,600 pandas remaining in the wild. At least there are over 300 in zoos...
But still. We can't go on like this. We're destroying the pandas' habitat with our greed, and slowly, the panda population is declining because of us. Seriously-- we shouldn't think of pandas as just animals. They're more than walking objects on the Earth. They're living creatures with feelings and emotions, just like us. Think of the damage that we're causing to the panda population. Think of how much we have to share, and how much we aren't sharing. We should really share more. There's no need for greed. And that's why there are lots of organizations that are working really hard to save endangered animals like pandas. And we can help those organizations by donating and spreading the word. There is still a chance that pandas can be saved. If we are to save pandas, we need to take that chance.
